ABSTRACT
Al realizar un diagnóstico endodóntico se presentan signos y síntomas que generan confusión en éste. Ante esta situación, es nuestra intención realizar una investigación documental (libros, revistas, internet y entrevistas) donde se describan dichos signos y síntomas. Autores consultados mencionan algunas patologías como periodontitis apical aguda, oclusión traumática, cefalea en racimo, absceso Periodontal y neuralgia del trigémino entre otras, que presentan una sintomatología similar a las encontradas en una odontalgia por lo que se puede complicar el diagnóstico. Al finalizar la investigación documental se concluye que el dolor dental es el síntoma más común que crea confusión al diagnosticar, pero realizando un diagnóstico exhaustivo, no habrá duda al momento de diferenciar entre una pulpalgia de otra patología.
When making an endodontic diagnosis, signs and symptoms are presented that generate confusion in it. Faced with this situation, it is our intention to carry out a documentary investigation (books, magazines, internet and interviews) where these signs and symptoms are described. Authors consulted mention some pathologies such as acute apical periodontitis, traumatic occlusion, cluster headache, Periodontal abscess and trigeminal neuralgia, among others, which present symptoms similar to those found in odontalgia, which can complicate the diagnosis. At the end of the documentary research, it is concluded that dental pain is the most common symptom that creates confusion when diagnosing, but making an exhaustive diagnosis, there will be no doubt when differentiating between a pulpalgia from another pathology.
